Dr. Wolniak is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology at Northwestern Medicine.  She is a staff hematopathologist and served as the Clinical Flow Cytometry medical director for 5 years. Her clinical and research interests focus predominantly on the role of flow cytometry in the diagnosis of leukemia and lymphoma.   In the past few years, Dr. Wolniak has become very involved in education at all levels including trainees, medical students, and laboratory technologists.  Dr. Wolniak is the Associate Residency Program Director and has worked to improve trainee engagement in the laboratory medicine curriculum.  In the FSM curriculum Dr. Wolniak is currently the Feinberg School of Medicine Phase 1 Curriculum Director, Co-Curricular Content Expert in Pathology, Co-Chair of the Diagnostic Testing Committee, and module leader of the Foundations courses.  Dr. Wolniak is the Senior Councilor of Education for the International Clinical Cytometry Society.  She also served as the Chair of the American Society for Clinical Pathology-Board of Certification Cytometry Examination Committee.
