H&E Staining and Epithelia

Objectives

By the end of the video, students should be able to:

  1. Understand the components of the cell stained by Hematoxylin and Eosin stain and the molecular/electrostatic mechanisms of this process leading to characteristic staining patterns observed in histology/pathology.

  2. Differentiate between the types of epithelia within the simple and stratified subtypes. 

  3. Describe the organization and function of the different types of epithelia.

  4. Name at least one example of each types of epithelia within the human body.
