Objectives

• Know all of the structural components of the respiratory tract and classify whether they are part of conducting or respiratory division.

• Discuss the composition of the trachea, primary, secondary, tertiary bronchi, and bronchioles in respect to cartilage and presence of smooth muscle. 

• Describe the structural makeup of alveolar sacs, and the cell types located in the alveolar matrix, their function, and relative abundance.
